The Application and Performance of the OPGW Cable

The OPGW cable which is the KST product using the aluminum tube type, the aluminum frame and (stainless) steel structure, according to the user’s needs. The optical fiber combined inside a sleeve which is made of stainless steel, around the sleeve is the aluminum-clad steel wire(AS wire),the out layer wrapped in aluminum alloy wire(AA line) layer of the mountain cable.

The  applications of OPGW cable

1. OPGW cable is mainly used in 110KV, 220KV, 550KV voltage grade lines, and by power lines, security and other factors, it mostly used in new lines.

2. If the line’s high pressure is above 110KV, the line span is generally wider (usually more than 250M)

3. The OPGW is easier to maintain,its can also easily to solve the problem of the line across,and its mechanical properties can meet the huge span of the line across.

4. The outer layer of the OPGW is metal sheathed, it has no effect on high-voltage erosion and degradation.

5. It must be powered off if the OPGW used in the construction, and this conducts may taking a major loss, so in the new 110KV high voltage lines should be used OPGW.
